What: “Teaghlach Gaelach: A Celebration of Irish Family History” is a virtual event featuring multiple speakers and topics, including researching farming ancestors, Irish Palatines, and using surnames

Ulster Historical Foundation “Essentials” course: The Winter 2025–2026 course goes live on November 9, 2025, but registration may open in October. It includes pre-recorded lectures, interactive workshops, and live Q&A sessions

Key genealogy search events happening in Ireland in October 2025 include 

a research program hosted by the Ulster Historical Foundation and several talks and exhibitions that are part of the Dublin Festival of History.

Ulster Historical Foundation Research Programme

  • What it is: A three-day, in-person program that provides assisted genealogical research in Irish archives

Dublin Festival of History

Several events during the annual Dublin Festival of History are relevant to genealogical research and family history: 

Grangegorman and Genealogy: Searching for Patient’s Voices: An information session presented by Grangegorman Histories and the National Archives. It focuses on sources for genealogical research related to former Grangegorman patients.
